17 Students Graduate from the Lino Spiteri Foundation Headstart Course

Seventeen students recently celebrated an important milestone after graduating from the Lino Spiteri Foundation’s Headstart programme, a course designed to prepare persons with disabilities for employment and independent living.

The graduation marked an emotional and proud moment for participants, many of whom have worked hard to overcome challenges while developing the skills needed to enter the workforce.

The LSF Academy Headstart programme focuses on building practical life and workplace skills. Through a series of modules, participants learn about job searching, interview preparation, CV building, financial literacy, communication, and independent living. The programme also includes real work experience, helping students gain valuable insight into the expectations of the workplace.

Speaking about the programme, LSF CEO Esmeralda Micallef Zarafa explained that the Foundation continues to work closely with employers and organisations across Malta to help ensure that participants are prepared to enter the labour market with confidence.

Since the programme began, 40 students have graduated from the Headstart course, with many already contributing to the workforce. Graduates highlighted how the training helped them develop independence, confidence, and practical skills that will support them in their future careers.

Through initiatives like Headstart, the Lino Spiteri Foundation continues to support persons with disabilities in building the skills needed to access meaningful employment and participate fully in society.
