More persons with disability are contributing to the economy – PM

On Friday 21st April, Prime Minister Dr Robert Abela had a meeting with the workers at the Maltapost branch in Xewkija, Gozo.  Dr Abela had the chance to meet with the workers, most being persons with disabilities.

Dr Abela noted that more and more persons with disabilities are contributing to the economy by participating in the labour force. The latest official figures show that the number of persons with disabilities registered as unemployed is steadily decreasing. He said the government wants to provide further incentives to employers so that people with disabilities not only work but also improve their skills.
